A True Story The Story of the Boys Choosing EAPA: It was after a visit to our kinesiologist that we became aware of the website www.tithingtree.com I decided that despite our financial difficulties, it was time to give to others. I instructed my boys to get on the net and choose a charity/organisation they felt they would like to give to. Each of my boys spent quite a bit of time investigating each charity and each came to a decision. I have three boys and I was not surprised when we ended up with three different charities [of which the Elder Abuse Prevention Association was not one]. I told the boys to discuss it between themselves and come up with one choice. To my surprise Casey and Bryce - my 13 year old twin boys - came up with the Elder Abuse Prevention Association. When I asked why, Bryce said: "Because no one should have to live their last years being abused." I was surprised and humbled by the decision made. I was delighted to honor my boys' decision and forward our donation. Our hope now is that the Association continues to grow and attract the necessary bodies that can truly make a difference to this organisation. For it will only be a matter of time before we too become elders. A proud mother, Angela Bayswater, Victoria, Australia |
